Rail Infrastructure Experience
Rail infrastructure involves building and maintaining rail and transport assets and equipment including bridges, tunnels, rail track, platforms, overhead wiring, and crossings.
Abergeldie’s capabilities in complex rail and transport projects include:
- Rock cutting and embankments
- Complete railway station upgrades, including stair and lift installations.
Typical of the Abergeldie team’s work was the recent Erskineville Rail Bridge project for Railcorp in New South Wales. The demolition of an old brick-arched bridge and construction of new road and pedestrian access over a six track live line in inner city Sydney required expert design, construction, safety and traffic management.
Abergeldie’s specialisation in complex infrastructure was integral to the safe and successful completion of the project, ensuring no interfering with continuous rail operations occurred, and with minimal inconvenience to the local community.
Rail and transport projects undertaken by Abergeldie include station upgrades, rail overbridge replacement and construction, track formation reconditioning, car park construction, retaining walls, and facilities upgrades.
Below are some examples of rail and transport projects undertaken by the Abergeldie team.
