SYDNEY AIRPORT BUILDINGS #237 AND #239 STRUCTURAL REPAIRS

Abergeldie was engaged on a design and construct basis to carry out a detailed, on-site condition assessment of and carry repairs to degraded concrete columns and brick infill panels on Buildings #237 and #239, which house traffic control operations for the approaches to Sydney Airport. Scope or repairs included attention to concrete cancer in columns in the buildings and tower structures, installation of brick ties, replacement of downpipes and painting.

Noise and vibration controls were closely monitored to ensure that there was no disturbance to air traffic control operations which continued, uninterrupted, while the works were being carried out.
