Abergeldie was engaged in the construction of the replacement aluminium roof, steel supporting members and associated elements and structures of potable water storage reservoir. Other works included in situ repairs to steel support members, a partial internal re-line and hydrostatic re-sealing of all in-floor and wall-to-floor joints. Access ladders, gantries and work platforms were also replaced, and electrical and telemetry systems upgraded.

Work on the aluminium roof sections was carefully staged, removing only a small segment at a time to avoid overall destabilisation of the structure.

Once the reservoir had been emptied and internal surfaces cleaned, a detailed inspection and condition assessment was made of the surface of the concrete base and additional scope of work agreed to partially reline the inside walls and base and apply new hydrostatic sealant.

Work was carried out at heights under confined space conditions, and against a tight shutdown period.
