ERSKINEVILLE TO SYDENHAM 608 FEEDER CABLE ROUTE

Scope comprised excavation and civil construction immediately adjacent to live rail tracks and microtunnelling beneath the tracks (ULX) to install conduits for a new 608 (11kV) feeder cable route (originally an aerial transmission line).  At the client’s instigation, the originally contracted scope was increased to realign ULX conduits beneath the tracks at Sydenham, increase the depth of excavations, construct additional shoring boxes and upgrade the details of cast-in-situ pits. Rail safe working requirements were strictly observed, with a rail Protection Officer in attendance for all elements of the works.
