Abergeldie is in the privileged position of being able to tangibly improve and connect communities by delivering projects that have a direct impact such as water and wastewater facilities, rail track reconditioning and station upgrades, bridge and walkways infrastructure. Our mission to build better communities goes beyond providing complex infrastructure, it is deeply embedded in our culture and values as an engineering business.

Environmental sustainability

BCSD australia

We have been members of Business Council for Sustainable Development Australia since 2012. BCSD is the national peak body representing forward-thinking companies and organisations that are working towards the transition to a sustainable Australia.

Carbon Free by 2035

We recently announced an emissions reduction goal to achieve net zero operational emissions by 2035. With that goal now set Abergeldie will develop a detailed strategy to ensure we manage the risks and maximise the opportunities that our long term emissions reduction goal presents

We care about giving back to the communities where we live and work

Since being established in 1994, Abergeldie has given back 0.1% of annual revenue (not profit) to local charity organisations. Giving back to the communities where we live and work is part of who we are as an engineering business.

Reconciliation Action Plan and Aboriginal Participation

In February 2021, Abergeldie was formally endorsed by Reconciliation Australia. Abergeldie’s commitment to reconciliation and the development of our REFLECT Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is deeply embedded in our mission to build better communities.

Long term commitments

Abergeldie is committed to help those experiencing poverty and homelessness through supporting St Vincent de Paul Society. For over 13 years, Abergeldie has sponsored the Western Sydney Food Van with many staff volunteering their time monthly providing company, support, and food to those who need it. Since 2009, Abergeldie has participated in the CEO Sleepout raising over $1m. Abergeldie and staff have also volunteered and fundraised for the Community Sleepout since its inaugural year in 2018.

We are locals

Abergeldie is a locally and privately owned company and caring for the communities where we live and work is part of who we are. In the true Abergeldie Way, our staff continues to volunteer their valuable time and experience to local communities. Local employment and procurement strategies are developed for each project. In recent years, we have partnered with local organisations to help raise funds for regional medical assistance, mental health and educate the younger generation on the built environment.

Training and development

Abergeldie believes in building a better future for everyone and helping develop the skills of our people. Our multi-skilled workforce is the backbone of our business and providing opportunities for professional development is how we encourage improvement. We are in partnership with universities and training institutions, offer structured undergraduate and graduate programs.
