Within our business we are rolling out measures to reduce power and paper usage and landfill waste disposal. Staff are encouraged to offer suggestions about how environmental protection measures can be improved. Such suggestions are assessed by the Sustainability and Social Responsibility manager and implemented as appropriate.
As members of Sustainable Business Australia (SBA) and signatories to Businesses for a Clean Economy (B4CE), we advocate business solutions to reducing pollution. This includes putting a price on carbon emissions to incentivise business and the community to look for more sustainable ways of operating.
Recent sustainable initiatives
A new waste disposal system was introduced in our NSW and QLD offices which focuses on reusing, recycling and composting in order to reduce landfill waste.
For years tyres which have been used in our construction processes have been sent to land fill for disposal. We now send these tyres to be recycled and reused for other purposes.
