On 30 September 2015 Abergeldie were awarded The Design and Construct of Ultra Violet (UV) System at Burwood Beach Wastewater Treatment Works (WWTW) Contract. Valued at over $10 million, the scope includes design development, detailed design, construction, testing and commissioning of Burwood Beach WWTW UV disinfection system.
Civil works includes the construction of a new concrete twin UV channel with a full roof, an outfall chamber, connecting pipeworks, switchroom building and two transformers. Preliminary works have already started and the major works would be undertaken early in the new year. The original Contract period is fifty eight weeks and the works are expected to be commissioned before or after 2016 Christmas period.
